Sonoma State Beach features coastland with beaches, reefs, coves, tidepools, headlands, and natural arches. With more than ten miles of shore, 5,000 acres, this state beach is one of the largest in the state. The park stretches from Bodega Head to the Russian River. There is a five-mile trail system in the dunes. The beach is home to one of CaliforniaA?s largest seal rookeries. In the winter, Bodega Head is one of the finest whale-watching sites on the North Coast. The park is also home to many kinds of seabirds. The ocean bay and river frontage offers perch, salmon, steelhead and smelt fishing.

Park Kiosk Hours:

Hi Season: 10am-8pm
Lo Season: 10am-4pm

During the "low season" the kiosks at Sonoma Coast State Beach are not staffed. Self registration facilities are available. All fees at Sonoma Coast State Beach remain constant throughout the year.

All vehicles must stay on paved parking spur.

Alerts and Important Information

Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check-in.

Your DMV Disabled Placard/License Plate does not automatically give you a discount on your campsite. You will need to obtain a CA State park-issued Disabled Discount Pass (DDP) or Distinguished Veterans Pass (DVP).

Wrights Beach is site specific. You will select your site number when you make a reservation.
Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
Park is normally open and reservable year round.
Bodega Dunes Campground and Wrights Beach Campgrounds are about 6 miles from each other.

Firewood may be purchased from the Camphost. No collecting down wood in the campground.

70 reservable sites from May 1, 2013 - September 2, 2013
18 standard sites/1 ADA site reservable beginning September 3, 2013

The beach is located between Jenner and Bodega Bay on Highway One.
