EMERALD BAY SP, CAStatus: Open through Fri Dec 31 2010 Season Dates DescriptionEmerald Bay State Park is adjacent to D.L. Bliss State Park. With its rugged shoreline and blue-green water, Emerald Bay is one of the most photographed places in the world. Vikingsholm, a replica of a Scandinavian castle (800 A.D.), is part of the park. The building is considered one of the finest examples of Scandinavian architecture in the Western Hemisphere. Tours are available of this 38-room mansion. Emerald Bay offers a panoramic view of the lake from Eagle Falls. Hikers can head into nearby Desolation Wilderness or walk the rugged lakeshore to D.L. Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
Emerald Bay State Park is site specific, you will select your site at the time you make your reservation. WARNING: Metal bear resistant food lockers are provided in each campsite. All food, beverages, and toiletries are required by law to be stored in provided food lockers. The inside dimensions of the food lockers are 36" deep, 43" wide, and 22" high. Violators will be cited. Camp at your own risk! By choosing to enter or camp at Emerald Bay SP you assume the risk of personal injury or property damaged caused by bears.
