Brannan Island State Recreation Area is located in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This area northeast of San Francisco Bay, has countless islands and marshes with many wildlife habitats and many opportunities for recreation, including boating, windsurfing and swimming. One of the outstanding water-oriented recreation areas in the world, the area offers great fishing, includes striped bass, sturgeon, catfish, bluegill, perch and bullhead. Little Frank's Tract, a protected wetland marsh, is home to beaver, muskrat, river otter, mink and 76 species of birds.

Alerts and Important Information

Brannan Island will be open five days per week. THE PARK WILL BE CLOSED MONDAYS AND TUESDAYS!
- Family campsites, group camps (closed 10/1/10 - 2/28/11), and cabins will be open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and the following holidays: Sunday night depart at noon on Memorial Day, Sunday night depart at noon on the 5th of July (4th of July will be observed July 5 in 2010), and Sunday night depart at noon on Labor Day.
- Day Use (Ramadas) areas will be open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (until sunset) and the following holidays (until sunset): Memorial Day, 4th of July (observed July 5 in 2010), and Labor Day.
- Launch ramp will be open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and on Memorial Day, 4th of July (observed July 5 in 2010), and Labor Day closing at sunset.


Ramada reservations are day use only, no overnight stays are allowed.

Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.

Reservations for Brannan Island family sites you are now able to choose the specific site you desire.

  • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
  • Boat Berths are NOT reservable.
  • Group sites (closed 10/1/10 - 2/28/11), Cabin, Ramadas Reservations year round.
  • To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants!

    • Olympic Campground (All Year)
    • Cottonwood Campground/Willow Campground campgrounds ROTATE seasonal closures. Annually, one of these campgrounds will close at noon on Labor Day and will remain closed until the second Friday in May and will remain closed when not on reservation.

7. Take exit 485 toward Rio Vista 0.4 mi
8. Merge onto CA-12/W State Route 12 Continue to follow CA-12
9. Take left on CA-160 and the park will be on your left
