Description

This billion-year-old hill is one of the oldest geologic formations on earth. The top of the 60-foot observation tower offers spectacular views.
Downhill skiing and snowshoe trails are available in the winter.

  • The road to Rib Mountain State Park is 1.7 miles long with an 8% grade. Vehicles should have sufficient power to pull their unit up a steep slope and be equipped with good brakes. It may be difficult to get a unit completely level on a majority of the sites.

  • There are no flush toilets and no winter camping.

    Vehicle admission stickers are required.Click here for cost of the sticker. Reservations cannot be cancelled online.

    Rib Mountain State Park is located just west of the city of Wausau. Exit Hwy 51/39 to Cty Hwy N (Exit 188). Drive west 1/3 mile to Park Road. Proceed straight through traffic lights follow it up the mountain 1.7 miles to the contact station.
