DAY permits valid only until dance is over at 11pm.
Garner is divided into 2 sections: "Old Garner" and "New Garner" - both sections are along the Frio River.
"Old Garner" is the Pecan Grove and Oakmont areas. Concessions and recreational activities are in this area: grocery store, mini-golf, paddleboats, dance pavilion and river dam with deepest swimming areas. Concessions are open seasonally - Memorial Day through Labor Day and some weekends.
"New Garner" is the Live Oak, Cypress Springs, Rio Frio, Shady Meadows River Crossing, & Persimmon Hill areas. It is more secluded away from the concessions/activity area.
Park will close when it reaches maximum day-use parking capacity. This usually happens on weekends during the summer and some holidays (sometimes as early as 11:00 a.m.) Park reopens when sufficient parking is available. The summer nightly dance also reaches maximum parking capacity and access to the dance is frequently closed throughout the summer (sometimes as early as 8:30pm) Have alternate plans just in case park is closed. These closures do not effect customers with reservations.
The 14 day maximum stay limit is not enforced from Tuesday after Labor Day through Wednesday before Memorial Day. Customers wanting more than 14 days during these transition periods may make reservation for 14 days and then contact the reservation center to extend the reservation for the additional days. Reservations may not exceed 14 days within the peak period.
