Description

Westcott Beach State Park is a popular day-use and camping park on Lake Ontario, with rolling, wooded hills and open, grassy meadows sheltered by Henderson Bay. It offers restful campsites on a bluff with spectacular views. A small marina is adjacent to the long, sandy beach, to accommodate anglers interested in Lake Ontario's excellent black bass fishing. The park also has a children's playground, picnic areas, and hiking trails that do double duty in winter for cross-country skiing.

Westcott Beach State Park is a state park in Jefferson County, located at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, in the Town of Henderson.

Beach swimming, boating, camper recreation programs, fishing, hiking, hunting, picnicking, group camping, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing are among the park's enjoyable activity options.

The park's many amenities are accessible to disabled visitors, like its food concessions, individual campsites, group campsites, pavilions, picnic tables, playground, and showers. Additional amenities include a beach, boat launch sites, dockage, dumping stations, and playing fields.

Alerts and Important Information

The Campers swimming beach will be closed all season. (main day-use beach remains open).
To insure fairness for all NY customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 9-month Maximum Window can not be changed or cancelled until 18 days after the reservation was made.

  • Pets must have proof of current rabies certificate.
  • Pets are only allowed in designated areas.
  • Campers must be 18 years old to register and occupy a campsite.

  • The main day-use beach is open for the 2009 season and swimming is permitted only when lifeguards are on duty.
  • The Campers swimming beach will be closed for the 2009 season.

  • Campers must be 21 years old or older to possess or consume alcohol.
  • No kegs are allowed at the park.

    Peak season: A person may be the primary site occupant for 14 total days of camping within a 16 day period. S/he must leave the park for 48 hours once they have stayed the maximum number of days allowed before beginning a new reservation.
