Rudd Pond is a 64 acre lake that offers swimming , fishing , rowboat, canoe, kayak and paddle boat rentals .Geography:The Rudd Pond area of Taconic State Park is located in Millerton, NY along the Taconic Mountain Range in northeastern Dutchess County. The park shares a border with Massachusetts and Connecticut . Recreation:Besides camping and hiking other popular activities include swimming , picknicking , boating on Rudd Pond , bicycling and roller blading on the rail trail , fishing and hunting . Facilities:Rudd Pond has over 40 campsites for tents with several capable of accomodating small trailers . Nearby Attractions:Nearby attractions include Taconic State Park's Copake Falls Area, Olana State Historic Site, Clermont State Historic Site, Staatsburgh State Historic Site, and Lake Taghkanic State Park. Alerts and Important InformationCAMPSITES: PETS: Campers with dogs allowed on designated sites (23 thru 28) only. No more than two dogs per site. Must be attended to and on a leash at all times. Proof of rabies inoculation is required. Getting There:Taconic State Park (Rudd Pond Area)59 Rudd Pond Drive , DC 62 Millerton NY 12546 From the Taconic Parkway: Exit at Pine Plains/Red Hook/Route 199. Take Route 199 East for 15 miles to Route 22. Turn left onto Route 22 North. Go 2 miles to Millerton. Turn right onto Route 44 East for ÃÂý mile. Turn left onto Dutchess County Route 62. The park entrance will be 2 miles down, on the right side. Please note that RV's, trailers and commercial traffic are prohibited on the Taconic State Parkway.
