Description

Robert Moses State Park is located partly on the mainland and partly on Barnhart Island. Visitors reach the park through a tunnel under the Eisenhower Lock. The park is spacious, home to a large variety of flora and fauna. The nature center also offers holiday, special events and school outreach programs. The park's nature, hiking and cross-country skiing trails wind through fields, forests and wetlands, with overlooks showcasing spectacular views. In winter, the park also welcomes snowmobilers

Robert Moses State Park is located on the St. Lawrence River. This park is NOT located on Long Island.

Recreation:

The park offers a multitude of recreational opportunities, camping, a marina and boat launch, some of the best fishing in the Northeast, picnic areas, a swimming beach, tennis courts and a year round nature center. The nature center also offers holiday, special events and school outreach programs. Most park facilities are accessible to disabled visitors. The park has a beach, trails, a marina, a picnic area with a playground, and nature center, and restrooms with showers. Boat launch and boat rentals are available.

Gas stations and major shopping centers are within five miles, as are a power dam and Eisenhower Lock. The Thousand Islands region is about an hour and a half away from the park.
