MOREAU LAKE STATE PARK, NY

Status: Closed through Thu May 06 2010   Season Dates
Max reservation window: Tue Nov 09 2010   Later Dates

Description

Moreau Lake State Park lies amid hardwood forests, pine stands and rocky ridges. Shady groves of trees shelter picnic grounds and a pavilion overlooking the lake. Wooded campgrounds are quiet and secluded, offering facilities for group campers, as well as tent and trailer sites. The sandy beach, nature, hiking and cross-country ski trails, opportunities for boating, fishing and ice fishing, and proximity to the Saratoga Spring and Lake George areas make the park attractive to visitors.

Geography:

Moreau Lake State Park is located ten miles north of Saratoga Springs in the Adirondack foothills.

Recreation:

The park's many activities include boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, bird watching, biking, hunting, visiting the Nature Center, and wintertime ice fishing, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Facilities:

The park's amenities include a beach, boat launch sites, boat rentals, cabins, campsites, dumping stations, showers, 20+ trails for hiking and biking, picnic tables, and a playground.
