Erving State Forest, MADescriptionBeautiful Erving State Forest is situated on the scenic Mohawk Trail. The woodlands are interlaced by 8 miles of forest roads and numerous trails that lead to points of scenic interest. The forest offers wonderful park amenities including swimming and boating in crystal-clear Laurel Lake and extensive hiking trails. Camp in mid-June and enjoy the abundant Mountain Laurels in bloom. In late September through Columbus Day, the park is dressed in spectacular fall foliage. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationIMPORTANT: Beginning in the 2010 camping season, MA State Parks prohibits the transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities. Firewood will be available at the campground for a donation of $5.00 per bundle. Transportation of firewood into or out of MA State Park Campground facilities may result in eviction, or substantial fine, or both. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited in all Massachusetts State Parks and Campgrounds. The reservation must be in the name of the primary occupant. To insure fairness for all MA customers, any reservation with departure dates outside the 6-month Maximum Window cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after the reservation was made. If you choose to cancel or change your reservation, a $10.00 fee will be charged. The reservation transaction charge is non-refundable. Cancellations made on the day of arrival must be made by contacting the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping use fee plus the $10.00 cancellation fee. Fees will be deducted from any refunds due or will be added to future reservations. Refunds of $5.00 or less cannot be processed. If you leave early, please check-out at the contact station. If you are unable to arrive on your scheduled arrival date, you must call the campground. Failure to contact the park by 8:00 A.M. the morning following your scheduled arrival date may result in your campsite being reassigned to another camper and forfeiture of all fees paid. Getting There:Erving State Forest200 East Main Street Rt 2A Erving MA 01344 From North: Rte. 91 South to exit 27 (Rte. 2 East). Take Rte. 2 East to Erving Center, turn left at the fire station on to Church St. Travel 0.9 mi (road will change to North Street) and trun right on Swamp Rd. The contact station will be 1.5 miles on the right. Erving State Forest signs are located on Rte. 2 (Erving Center), and at junction of North St. and Swamp Rd. From South: Rte. 91 North to exit 27 (Rte. 2 East). Follow directions from the North. From West: Rte. 2 East to Erving Center. Follow directions from North From East: Rte. 2 West to Erving, left on Rte. 2A (East Main St.). Travel 0.7 mi and turn left on Mossbrook Rd. Travel 1.9 miles and bear left on Quarry Rd. The Park entrance is on the left. Travel 0.06 mi to the contact station on the left. Erving State Forest signs are on Rte. 2, Rte. 2A, Mossbrook Rd. and Quarry Rd.
