CALADESI ISLAND SP, FLDescriptionCaladesi Island State Park is one of the few remaining undeveloped barrier islands in the state. The park comprises a total of 650 upland acres and more than 1800 acres of surrounding mangroves and grass flats. In addition to over 3 miles of sandy beach and a 3-mile nature trail, fragile beach dunes, maritime hammock, and mangrove forest are all found at Caladesi Island.For further information on Caladesi Island, please click on the following link: The Caladesi Cafe is open daily weather permitting. Alerts and Important InformationDue to power line repairs outside the park. Progress Energy will shut off electrical service to Caladesi Island State Park for several hours on Friday, Nov. 6. The outage will begin at 8:30 a.m. and last from four to eight hours. During this time, power will be unavailable in the marina, and menu items at the cafe may be limited. We apologize for any inconvenience to park visitors. The park gates close at sunset. If you plan to arrive late please contact the park prior to 5 PM on the day of your arrival. *The marina offers first-come, first-served boat slips.*Boaters will enjoy the 108-slip bayside marina, where overnight docking is permitted. Boaters should register before sunset. Picnic pavilions, bathhouses, and a park concession all make the visit more comfortable. Fishing, shelling, and nature studies are all ways to enjoy a visit to Caladesi Island State Park. Please stay off beach dunes. Please stay out of protected bird nesting and resting areas posted on island. Please do not disturb sea turtle nests, which are posted during nesting season. Caladesi Island State Park offers BOAT CAMPING ONLY.Pets are allowed in family camping areas overnight. RV and tents are not allowed. Boaters Note: Boat slips and facilities for visitors with special needs or who are disabled are available at this park. Contact the park directly at (727) 469-5918 for more information. Pets are welcome overnight in all the camping parks. Pet rules apply. Domestic breeds of dogs, except guide or signal dogs or animals trained to assist individuals with a disability, cats, fur-bearing animals, birds and reptiles are not allowed in food-service areas, cabins or cabin areas, primitive campgrounds, beaches where bathing and swimming are permitted, either land and water portions, park buildings, playgrounds, and areas designated by park management. Captive wild species, whether native or non- native, and barnyard animals, are not allowed. Pets must be well behaved at all times and confined in the owner's camping unit during quiet hours. Unconfined pets may not be left unattended for more than 30 minutes and must be on a leash no more than 6 feet long. Please do not tie pets to park vegetation, natural or manmade structures or facilities. Pet owners must pick up after their pets and properly dispose of all droppings in trash receptacles. Pets are required to be vaccinated. A pet that is noisy, disturbing, intimidating or dangerous to other people or pets, or which damages park resources, will not be allowed to remain in the park.
