Season for Peak Fees: 5/15 to 9/15

Millerton Lake State Recreation Area has over 40 miles of shoreline for water sports. Recreation includes swimming, fishing, and boating. The lake was created by construction of the Friant Dam across the San Joaquin River in 1944. The hills surrounding the lake provide good hiking opportunities.
Wildlife in the park includes ground squirrels, cottontails, mule deer, badgers,and bald and golden eagles.
During winter, the park has special boat tours that view the bald eagles. The park contains the original Millerton County Courthouse, built in 1867. The park's camping facilities include boat camping.

    Alerts and Important Information

    *Notice:* Park Entrance Security Gate will close at 10 p.m. Plan your trip accordingly to accommodate arrival prior to gate closing. If arriving after 10 p.m., Security Gate Access Code will be given on your reservation confirmation letter.

    Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.

    Park open year round to reservations.

  • Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.
  • To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants.
