LEO CARRILLO SB, CAStatus: Open through Fri Dec 31 2010 Season Dates DescriptionSeason for Peak Fees: 03/01 to 11/30The beach was named after Leo Carrillo, a popular radio and TV performer, who also served on the State Park and Recreation Commission. He was related by blood and marriage to a long line of distinguished original Californians. The park has 1.5 miles of beach for swimming, surfing, wind-surfing, fishing and beachcombing. The beach also has tidepools, coastal caves and reefs for exploring. Nature walks and campfire programs are offered (call the park for schedules) and a small visitor center has interpretive displays. Giant sycamores shade the main campgrounds. The Park also features hiking upland. Park Kiosk Hours:

Alerts and Important InformationCampers 17 and under must have a permission slip signed by their parent allowing the minor to camp. It must have a signature, the campground, and dates in which the minor is camping and a phone number where the parent may be reached. There is a night time closure in effect, the gates are closed at 10:00pm. NO late night arrivals are permitted. Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park. Leo Carrillo is open and can be reserved Year-Round! Occupancy by the same persons, equipment, or vehicles of the Angeles District's camping facilities is limited to a total of 30 days in any calendar year. These facilities include: Leo Carrillo State Park Campground, Malibu Creek State Park Campground and Point Mugu State Park campgrounds including Sycamore Canyon and Thornhill Broome. March 16th through October 16th Occupancy is limited to 7 consecutive days in each of the above campgrounds. Following the 7 Day limit there must be a 48 hour period of vacancy beginning 12 noon on the check out day to 12 noon of the second day following before the same person, group, vehicles or equipment may occupy that campground. October 17 through March 15th Occupancy is limited to 15 consecutive days in each of the above campgrounds Following the 15 Day limit there must be a 48 hour period of vacancy beginning 12 noon on the check out day to 12 noon of the second day following before the same person, group, vehicles or equipment may occupy that campground.
