CUYAMACA RANCHO SP, CA

Description

Season for Peak Fees: 05/15 to 09/15

Spreading over 24,677 acres of land, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park features meadows, mountains and oak woodlands. More than half of the park is classified as "wilderness", meaning all vehicles, even bicycles, are prohibited. There are more than 100 miles of riding and hiking trails, including the Cuyamaca Peak Trail which climbs to the 6,512-foot summit with a spectacular of the Pacific, Colorado Desert, Mexico, and the Salton Sea. The park has exhibits about Native Americans, gold mining and natural history. Fishing is seasonal.

Alerts and Important Information

Due to high tree mortality caused by the Cedar Fire and the continuing drought, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park had to close numerous campsites at both Green Valley and Paso Picacho campgrounds. Therefore, the Park cannot guarantee that you will be allowed to camp in the site that you reserved. For safety reasons, you may be moved to another site; however, the Park will attempt to accommodate requests as availability allows.
Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.

Cuyamaca sites are first-come, first-served when not on reservations.

Fees include entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle or trailer, additional vehicles will be charged per night at the park.

    Cabins: Cedar, Coulter, Live Oak, Manzanita, and Nature Den:
    • Reservations Year round.

    • Green Valley Family sites.
    • First-come, first-served from 06/01/09 through 11/30/09
    • Paso Picacho Family sites.
    • To book a Group site you must have at least NINE occupants.
    • Los Vaqueros Equestrian Group site.
    • 2009 reservations 05/15/09 through 9/15/09
    • ALL other sites closed due to fire damage till further notice.
