Whether in an individual or dorm-style cottage, Crystal Cove Beach Cottages offer gorgeous ocean views, charming historic details, and a glimpse of a uniquely Southern Californian beach community from a bygone era. Located in the heart of Crystal Cove State Park's 3.5 miles of pristine coastline, the Historic District first developed as a South Seas movie set due to its seclusion and tropical aura. The community thrived and became beloved for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and picturesque landscape. Now guests can experience the magic of Crystal Cove as it existed from the 1930s to 1950s with a stay in an historically furnished individual or dorm-style cottage. Located directly on the beach or overlooking it from a bluff top, each cottage has been painstakingly restored and furnished to recreate Crystal Cove's unique historic beach culture and ambience. Reservations are available year-round.
Parking: The parking area is an approximate 10 minute walk from the cottages.
Accommodations: Each cottage and dorm-style room at Crystal Cove Beach Cottages is unique, so there is no such thing as a "typical" cottage or room. Please choose accommodations carefully since we will not be able to accommodate requests to change to another unit as there is a very limited number of cottages and rooms.
Check-In & Check-Out: Check-in time is anytime after 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Check-out is anytime prior to 11:00 am. No check-in will be allowed after 9:00 pm since the park gates are closed at that time.
Cribs and Highchairs: A limited number of cribs and high chairs are available. Advance notice is required to guarantee that the items requested will be available.
Housekeeping and Maid Service: Housekeeping and maid service is limited as follows:
- For full cottages, beds will be made upon arrival and towels and soap will be placed in bathrooms. No daily services will be provided except for daily removal of trash that has been placed in provided waste baskets. After 4 days, towels will be replaced upon request.
- For dorm-style rooms, linens and towels will be furnished on top of your bed(s) upon arrival. It will be the responsibility of the guests to make their own bed and to hang dry their towels.
Beach Towels, Chairs, Umbrellas: No beach towels will be furnished. Towels, chairs and umbrellas will be available during the summer months, on the beach for a fee.
Laundry: There are no laundry facilities on the premises.
Number of People in Each Unit: All guests 4 years old and older will be counted as chargeable guests. Any party that falsely represents the total number of guests in a unit may be subject to immediate eviction without refund.
Alerts and Important Information
Discount Pass must be presented at the time of check in.
- Reservations Year Round.
- Sub-renting, auctioning, assigning, or unauthorized transferring of cottage reservations, with or without profit, is prohibited by law and will be strictly enforced. Reservation transfers may be permitted following ReserveAmerica guidelines.
- The person named on the reservation must be present and must
provide valid identification at time of check-in.
- For the cottages there is a seven night maximum stay limit per
customer in a calendar year.
- Occupancy loads will be strictly enforced. Any additional guests not listed on the reservation will be charged at check-in. All guests 4
years old and older will be counted as chargeable guests.
- All laws, including State Park Rules and Regulations, will be
strictly enforced.
- No pets are allowed with the exception of certified companion dogs.
- Alcohol possession is strictly prohibited & monitored in all dorm-style cottages.
- Smoking is prohibited in all cottages, violations will be charged damage fee(s) up to $250.
- OPEN FLAMES, are PROHIBITED in the CRYSTAL COVE HISTORIC DISTRICT. Including smoking, charcoal/wood burning barbeques, campfires, candles, incense, tiki torches and other open flames. Self-contained gas canister type BBQ's are permitted on the beach and in approved locations on cottages exterior only.
- Parking entry gates are closed between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am daily.
- Non-registered guests and visitors must vacate park property,
including cottages, between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am daily.
- Check-in time is between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Check-out time is anytime prior to 11:00am. No Check-In will be alowed after 9:00 pm since the park gates are closed at that time.
- Upon arrival, guest shall be required to issue a credit card, for
authorization [not a charge], serving as a security deposit for keys and linens issued.
- A $50 security deposit for keys and linens will be collected at
check-in.
- The cabins/cottages are operated by a Concessionaire. Discount passes issued by California State Parks are not valid.
- Violation of any of the above rules and regulations may result in
forfeiture of payment and ejection from the premises.
- For the cottages there is a seven night maximum stay limit per customer in a calendar year. Creating multiple user IDs to bypass the seven night rule is not acceptable. Reservations made under individual unique multiple user IDs will not be honored.
- RATES SHOWN DO NOT INCLUDE APPLICABLE TAXES, OR
EXTRA GUEST SERVICE FEES (IF APPLICABLE).

Crystal Cove Beach Cottages are located on the ocean side of
Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, California. When driving
southbound on Pacific Coast Highway from Corona del Mar and points north, the entrance to the Historic District of Crystal Cove State Park is
located at the Los Trancos cross street, which is the first traffic light
south of Newport Coast Drive. Turn right at Los Trancos to enter the
park.
If driving northbound on Pacific Coast Highway from Laguna Beach and
points south, Los Trancos is the first traffic light after Crystal
Heights Drive. Turn left at Los Trancos to enter the park. Proceed to
the guard station for directions to the registration office. For those
