WOOD RIVER PICNIC AREA (ID), ID

Description

Located in central Idaho, adjacent to the Big Wood River. Restrooms are provided. Firewood is sold at the site. Self-guided nature trails are available. Picnic area is located in an alpine mountain environment with average summer temperatures of 78 degrees high, and 40 degrees low. Popular events include an Arts and Crafts Fair in July, Wagon Days in September, Salmon Festival and Quilt Fair.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.

This is a Day-use area. There is no overnight camping allowed.

  • Picnic Area is open from 8:00 am - 10:00 pm
  • Live music and amplified sound systems must be approved by the SNRA; Please call (208) 774-3000.
  • No refunds for bad weather.
  • Must bring reservation confirmation number to the Picnic Area.
  • This facility if not reserved, may be utilized on a first come-first served basis, but is subject to a $3.00 per vehicle day use fee.
  • Day use area is located within Wood River Campground where overnight camping is available.

    Take State Highway 75, north 10 miles from Ketchum, Idaho. Turn at the Wood River Campground sign. Stay on the main campground road for a short distance. The parking lot for the picnic site is on the right side of the road.
