FIREWOOD ALERT!: Leave Your Firewood At Home! We need your help to protect our forests! A firewood quarantine has been established for much of the state of Virginia. In general, firewood can harbor insect pests under the bark and in the wood. The transport of infested firewood has been identified as a leading cause in the introduction of harmful forest insects into un-infested forest areas. The best way to prevent a new infestation of these invasive pests is to get your firewood AFTER arrival. Help us keep our parks pest free by leaving your firewood at home!

Description

Woodring Branch Campground is located in the southern end of the Blue Ridge Mountains of north Georgia. Carters Lake's sparkling waters and rugged shoreline provide a beautiful surrounding for a variety of recreational opportunities which include camping, boating, fishing, water skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and picnicking. Campground amenities include showers, dump station, laundry facilities, boat launch, playground and a swimming area.

Approximately 70 miles north of Atlanta, Georgia. From Atlanta: I-75 north to exit 293 follow Hwy 411 North, turn Right on Hwy 136, turn Left on old Hwy 411, turn Right on Hwy 282/76, Campground is located 4.5 miles off GA Hwy 282. From Ellijay, GA: Take Hwy 282/76 West for 11 mi. to access road, follow signs to campground.
