WINDUST PARK (WA), WADescriptionWindust Park is located on Lake Sacajawea, which was formed when the Ice Harbor Lock and Dam was built on the Lower Snake River. This 31-mile long reservoir in Eastern Washington's scab-land and black-rock canyons has great appeal to boaters, upland game hunters, and anglers alike. Lower Monumental Lock and Dam is three miles upstream. Go there to watch barge traffic pass through the 100-foot tall navigation locks. You can camp along the historic route of Lewis and Clark in Windust Park, which offers 24 primitive sites. The park has a swimming area, boat ramp, playgrounds, and a dump station.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationNOTE: Windust Park is now a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED campground. There will no longer be a fee for camping at Windust Park. Customers will no longer be able to make reservations in advance for this campground. The comfort station and dump station will open May 1, 2009 and will close September 30, 2009. 2009. Primitive camping is available the rest of the year. There are no paved or gravel driveway pads for RV/trailers to sit on. RV/trailers will park on the grass at their designated campsite. Average length camping units may be accomodated up to a 40-foot maximum. One recreational vehicle/trailer with two tent or three tents only allowed per site. Tents on lawns must be moved every two days. All pets must be penned or on a six foot leash. Fireworks and loaded firearms are prohibited in the park. (Latitude, Longitude): 46.53306, -118.58333 From the Tri-Cities: Turn off Highway 12 on to the Pasco-Kahlotus (PK) Highway, and take the PK Highway for 30 miles to Burr Canyon Road and go 6 miles to the campground.
