As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. WHITETAIL RIDGE (GA), GADescriptionWest Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahooche River, just north of West Point, Georgia. The lake has a shoreline of more than 500 miles. Surrounded by forests and fields on the Alabama-Georgia state line, West Point Lake provides excellent fishing and camping and many other recreational opportunities. The Whitetail Ridge Campground offers 58 sites with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include a dump station, laundry facilities, hot showers, a boat ramp, and trails.Services & Amenities:

Highway 109 from LaGrange, GA for approximately 7 miles. After crossing the first bridge across the lake, travel approximately 1 more mile, then turn left onto Thompson Road.
