FIREWOOD ALERT!: Leave Your Firewood At Home!
We need your help to protect our forests! A firewood quarantine has been established for much of the state of Virginia. In general, firewood can harbor insect pests under the bark and in the wood. The transport of infested firewood has been identified as a leading cause in the introduction of harmful forest insects into un-infested forest areas. The best way to prevent a new infestation of these invasive pests is to get your firewood AFTER arrival. Help us keep our parks pest free by leaving your firewood at home!
WHITETAIL RIDGE (GA), GADescriptionWest Point Lake extends 35 miles along the Chattahooche River, just north of West Point, Georgia. The lake has a shoreline of more than 500 miles. Surrounded by forests and fields on the Alabama-Georgia state line, West Point Lake provides excellent fishing and camping and many other recreational opportunities. The Whitetail Ridge Campground offers 58 sites with electric and water hookups.
