As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. WHITE OAK (CREEK) CAMPGROUND (AL), AL

Description

The White Oak Creek Campground is located on Walter F. George Lake on the Georgia/Alabama border. Enjoy the natural beauty of the lake and the Chattahoochee River. Whether you want to get away for a week, a weekend, or just an afternoon, the lake offers the right atmosphere for camping, outdoor, and water-related activities. The White Oak Creek Campground has 130 sites with electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include 3 dump stations, laundry facilities, fish cleaning stations, bath houses, a boat ramp just outside the campground, playgrounds, and a group shelter

Alerts and Important Information

Sites in Creek View loop (60-100) are only available for walk-ins Oct 3-Dec 4/05. These sites will closed from Dec 5, 2005 thru Mar 2, 2006. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. No off-road vehicles allowed in the campground. The gate is locked at 10pm and opens at 7am CST. Some areas will close from Dec - Feb each winter.
