FIREWOOD ALERT!: Leave Your Firewood At Home! We need your help to protect our forests! A firewood quarantine has been established for much of the state of Virginia. In general, firewood can harbor insect pests under the bark and in the wood. The transport of infested firewood has been identified as a leading cause in the introduction of harmful forest insects into un-infested forest areas. The best way to prevent a new infestation of these invasive pests is to get your firewood AFTER arrival. Help us keep our parks pest free by leaving your firewood at home!

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. The campground is open all year round. Campground gates open at 6:00 am and close at 10:00 pm. Gate attendants are on duty and the campground telephone number is 239-694-8770.
  • Cruiser sites are ONLY for boats that accommodate sleeping.
  • Campers reserving Cruiser sites (sites B1-B8) must sleep on the boat; Absolutely NO TENT or RV camping is allowed at these sites.
  • This campground has first-come, first-serve sites.

From I-75, take Exit 143, following Bayshore Boulevard E to SR 31. Turn on SR 31 N and travel 1.5 mi to SR 78. Turn E on SR 78 for 3 mi to North Franklin Lock Rd. Follow signs into campground.
