As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. WASHINGTON IRVING S (OK), OK

Description

Washington Irving South is located on the Arkansas arm of Keystone Lake. Local history has Washington Irving crossing the Arkansas River in this area during his expeditions west. The campsites are well shaded with abundant opportunities for fishing. Within the park there is a nature trail that is about 1 mile in length for your hiking pleasure.

The campground is separated into 3 camping loops with a total of 41 campsites, many with water and electric hookups. The park has a dump stations, playground, boat ramp, and new shower bathroom facilities as well as pit restrooms. There is a designated alcohol free swimming area.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance for camping sites, and 1 day in advance for group sites. Reservations are honored at the campground from April 1 thru September 15, and the campground is open on a first come, first-served basis during April and from September 15 thru October 31.

This campground has first come, first serve sites and are as follows: 01, 02, 03, 12, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31 & 35.

  • The campground has heavy tree cover and numerous low hanging limbs, which should be investigated before entry with a camper.

From Tulsa, OK: Take Hwy 412 west for 15 miles to Bears Glen exit. Turn left at stop sign onto the Frontage Road and drive 1 block. Turn right at 1st paved road and follow 2 miles to campground entrance.
