As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. WARTRACE CK REC AREA (TN), TN

Description

Wartrace Creek Recreation Area is located on Cordell Hull Lake approximately 9 miles from Gainsboro, TN. The lake itself was named for Cordell Hull, one of America's outstanding statesmen and one of Tennessee's finest volunteers who was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Visitors here enjoy hunting, fishing, site seeing, and boating. One picnic shelter is available for reservation. Additional amenities include restrooms, a boat launch, playground, and swimming area.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. Shelter fees are $50/day and reservations do not exempt day use fees for swimming and launching. More information about this area can be obtained by calling (615) 735-1034.
