As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. WARRIOR CREEK (NC), NC

Description

Warrior Creek Park is located on the south side of the W. Kerr Scott Reservoir in North Carolina. Constructed in the beautiful Yadkin River Valley, the lake offers extensive opportunity for all outdoor recreational activities. Boating, fishing, water skiing, and swimming are popular aquatic sports. Camping, picnicking, sightseeing, hiking and hunting are enjoyed on land. The campground offers 54 sites for campers, both with and without electric and water hookups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a playground, basketball court, swimming beach, two group areas and hiking trails.

Alerts and Important Information

Warrior Creek Campground is undergoing major renovation over the winters months. All campsites are closed for reservations until June 30, 2010. A new numbering system and layout is being designed, and has to entered into the NRRS system before any reservations can be made. The closure may be lifted before June 30th, so continue to check the website. A fee increase will be in place for the 2010 season. All standard electric sites will be $22.00 per night and the group camp areas will be $85.00 per night.

From Winston-Salem, NC, take US 421 north to Wilkesboro. Follow SR 268 west 8 miles. After crossing Sr 268 bridge, turn right on first road. Follow signs into the campground.
