WARM RIVER CABIN (ID), ID

Description

The Cabin is located at Warm River Springs, the source of Warm River. An Idaho Fish and Game hatchery operated here from the1930s to the 1950s. The Cabin (formerly the hatchery managers house) was constructed by the CCC in 1938.

please be aware of the following conditions at the site:

  • The spring water has not been tested. Bring your own water or treat the spring water appropriately before culinary use.
  • Bring garbage bags, this is a pack in pack out site.
  • There is a wood stove for heating and cooking, wood is provided on site.
  • Mattresses provided on bunk beds, bring your own bedding or sleeping bags.
  • There is no electricity bring gas or battery powered lanterns. Hay brought in must be certified weed free.

Alerts and Important Information

Pick up the key at the Ashton Ranger Station, Ashton ID Mon.- Fri. 8am to 4:30pm. To make arrangements for after hours or weekend pickup call (208)652-7442 during regular business hours.

Snowmobile or ski access only from Approximately Dec. 5th to May 15th.Winter parking is at The Bear Gulch Trailhead, Appproximately five miles south of the Cabin

From Ashton ID, Travel E on Hwy. 47 ( The Mesa Fall Scenic Byway ) for 14 miles to Forest Road #150 turn right and travel 2.5 miles to Forest Road #154 proceed on #154 for 1.5 miles to the cabin.
