Open Year Around: RESERVATION SEASON FROM MARCH 1st TO SEPTEMBER 15. CAMPING OUTSIDE OF THIS PERIOD WILL BE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE ONLY. Tar Camp Campground is located on the Arkansas River by Pool 5 Lock and Dam. The area provides something for everyone whether it's camping, fishing, boating, or just relaxing in the sun. The Tar Camp Campground offers 58 sites, 38 with electric and water hookups. Additional ameniti include hot showers, a dump station, a boat launch, a playground, and public telephones.
