SUNSET-UNION VALLEY (CA), CADescriptionSunset-Union Valley is located in a ponderosa pine forest at an elevation of 5000 feet. Facilities include 131 family sites, a 30-unit tent camping area, a swimming beach, Fashoda (which is not reservable), a boatramp with an accessible boarding dock, a paved parking area, a dump station, and the Union Valley Bike Trail. A store with gas, ice, and a restaurant is located within 5 miles. Popular activities include sailing, boating, fishing, biking, swimming, and hiking. For current conditions and local information, call the Eldorado Information Center at 530-644-6048. Alerts and Important InformationReservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. Maximum 2 vehicles per site. An extra vehicle fee will be collected per day at the campground. A trailer or RV plus a tow vehicle counts as the 2 vehicles allowed with the price of the site. No refunds are given for bad weather. Bears and other wildlife are in the area. Please keep your campsite clean, your food properly stored, and the dumpsters locked. The after summer walk-in season is for Loop 3 only. This is Sunset-Union Valley in the Eldorado National Forest located near Pollock Pines. It is not Sunset State Beach near Santa Cruz.
