In Texas' Cross Timbers region, the Sowell Creek Campground on the Proctor Lake Reservoir has great appeal to the sportsman, birder, naturalist or those who just want to relax and enjoy themselves.

Alerts and Important Information
No off-road vehicles allowed. Vehicles restricted to improved roadways. Gray water must be held. A fee of $4.00 for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground for each vehicle over maximum 2 vehicles per campsite. Some sites are not reservable between Oct.1 to Mar 31. Golden-Age/Access card or America the Beautiful Pass holders can reserve only one site per card holder. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends during the peak season.
This campground is open year round and sites range from $16- $50/night.

Site Group1: Group Shelter Policy must be signed by the customer prior to occupation of the shelter. A copy of the policy letter can be downloaded from the Proctor Lake website at

From Comanche, TX take US Highway 67/377 east 12 miles to the town of
Proctor. Then left on FM 1476 west two miles to Recreation Road 6. Turn
