Description

South Fork Group Campground is located in the Crystal Basin Recreation Area at 5200 feet in elevation. This campground provides the only group facility with capacity for more than 50 people within the Crystal Basin. This campground has capacity of 125 people. Its location away from the highly developed recreation facilities on the reservoirs offers a unique opportunity for large groups. With 15 individual family sites, this facility is capable of handling groups who choose to camp in small family units or as large groups. A small parking area in the lower end of the camp provides parking for a bus or multiple cars. A group cooking area with food preparation tables and double grills is currently being developed. With the South Fork of the Rubicon River located within walking distance, this facility provides fishing, swimming, and other water-play opportunities. Potable water and electricity are not provided.
