PERSIMMON HILL(ENID LAKE) (MS), MS

Description

In Mississippi's Hills Region South Abutment Campground is on the south side of Enid Reservoir.

Enid offers many recreational activities such as boating, swimming, water-skiing, fishing, camping, picnicking, hiking, nature photography, environmental interpretive programs, and a horseback riding trail. Two of the most popular activities at Enid Lake are fishing and hunting. Enid is famous for its resources, particular white crappie, bass, and catfish. Enid Lake annually hosts many crappie and bass tournaments.

South Abutment Campground, also known as Persimmon Hill, offers 72 camp sites. All sites have a paved trailer pad and a tent pad with electrical and water hook-ups. Other amenities include shower houses, a boat ramp, a playground, a basketball court, single picnic tables with grills, 3 large picnic shelters and a multi-purpose trail for hiking and bicycling.

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends.
ONLY domestic dogs & cats are allowed as long as they are on a leash 6ft. or shorter and are restrained at all times. No other pets or livestock allowed.

  • Sites are $16 - $18 per night during peak season (Mar 1 - October 31).
  • Sites are $10 - $12 per night during non-peak season (November 1 - February 28).

The large picnic shelters may be reserved for $30/day.
This campground has first-come, first-serve sites.

Effective November 1, 2009. One extension will be granted for camping at this campground during the peak season (1 March through 31 October). At the end of 28 days, a camper and equipment must change campgrounds but may return to Persimmon Hill (73408) after 14 days.


Discount Card can be used for one site only. All additional sites reserved will be at full rate.

From I 55: Take Exit 233 14 miles S of Batesville, MS and go 1 MI E on Enid Dam Rd (CR 36), then S across the top of the dam 2 MI and follow the signs to Persimmon Hill Campground.
