As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. SMITH RIDGE (KY), KYDescriptionSituated along Kentucky's Highland Rim, the general area of Smith Ridge Campground contains forested tracks, rolling meadows, and riparian zones with slopes. Green River Lake encompasses a total of some 32,000 acres in the central portion of Kentucky. Smith Ridge campground offers 80 campsites, 62 with electric hookups, of which 31 also have water hookups. Other amenities include dump stations, bathhouses, a boat ramp, playground, picnic area, beach, and fishing areas. A public marina, gas station, bait & grocery stores, firewood & ice, and boat storage are nearby. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationReservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. The campground is open mid-April to mid-September. A gate attendant is on duty and the campground telephone number is 270-789-2743. Local option prohibits the use of alcohol. There is a maximum of 2 vehicles per site; no vehicles allowed off-road.
