SCHWARZ PARK (OR), OR

Description

Schwarz Campground is located below Dorena Lake in Oregon's Southern Willamette Valley. The campground is approximately 5 miles from the city of Cottage Grove. The area offers a variety of recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, and numerous covered bridges. In addition, a 12 mile paved bike path is located near the campground. Located in the low foothills of the Calapooya Mountains, Schwarz is surrounded by a diverse mixture of marshland, coniferous forests, and grasslands. The weather is generally mild during the recreation season with temperatures ranging from the low 50s to the upper 90s. Chances of precipitation are high from May through mid-June. There is a posted Health Dept. warning for fish consumption from Dorena Lake.

Alerts and Important Information

Schwarz Park will be open from 23 April - 26 September 2010. Call the Schwarz Campground Booth at (541) 942-1418 for more information (the booth is open 20 May - 12 September for information).

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. This campground requires you to reserve 2 nights on weekends, and 3 nights on holiday weekends for single sites or double sites. Reservations for group sites can be made 12 months in advance. The campground is open the 4th week of April through the last week in September. Sites are $14/night and Family double sites are $28/night. Maximum 1 RV and 2 tents or 3 tents per site. Maximum 8 people per site. Group camp fees are $140/night This includes up to 15 camping units, and up to 10 additional vehicles per day. Camping fee covers only the camping unit (motorhome, trailer, pickup camper, or one vehicle with tents) and any towed vehicle which enters the park attached to the main camping unit. All additional vehicles will pay the $6.00 extra vehicle fee. There is no electricity, water or sewer site hook-ups at this campground. No livestock. No ORV's allowed. Visitor hours end at 10 pm. Maximum 3 additional vehicles per site permitted in park.

From Eugene, OR take I-5 south to Exit 174. Turn left on Row River Road and travel for 5 miles. Entrance to the campground is on the left side of the road.

From Roseburg, OR: Interstate 5 North to Exit 174. Turn left on Row River Road and travel for 5 miles. Entrance to Schwarz campground is on the left side of the road.
