Lake Drawdown: A lake drawdown is scheduled for Nimrod Lake starting mid-May and continuing through the end of October. The lake level will be drawn down to elevation 337 which is 8 feet below the normal elevation for that time of year. All swim beaches and launch ramps will be unusable. The lake level will be too low for water sports such as skiing.

Description

River Road Campground is located at Nimrod Lake. Cradled between the Ouachita and Ozark Mountains in Arkansas. Nimrod Lake harbors crappie, largemouth bass, bream, catfish, and white bass. Nimrod Lake is located adjacent to a National Scenic Byway, State Highway 7. River Road Park provides 15 sites with electric and water hookups and an additional 6 sites in the Project Point Loop with electric hookups only. Additional amenities include a picnic shelter, hot showers, an interpretive hiking trail, a playground, and a public telephone.

Alerts and Important Information

Campground is open all year. Reservation season is from March 15 to October 25. Camping outside of this period will be First-come, First-serve ONLY. Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. Attendants are on duty from 8 am-8 pm. Check in time is 3 pm and check out time is 1 pm. No fireworks, firearms, livestock, ATV's, ORV's or other unlicensed vehicles allowed. All pets must be caged or secured on a leash on longer than 6 feet. The Project Point Loop is closed from the first of November to the end of February. Single site occupancy is limited to two units (2 tents) or (1 wheeled unit and 1 tent).

From Ola, AR, Travel 9 mi S on SR 7 (aka Scenic Byway 7), to access road. Follow signs into campground. From Ola, go 9 miles South on State HWY 7 also known as Scenic Byway 7 to the access road.
