ROBBS HUT (CA), CADescriptionLocated near Union Valley Reservoir at an elevation of 6686 feet, Robbs Hut has a mountaintop view of the Sierra mountains and lakes. Facilities provided include a propane heat stove, lights, and cook stove; outdoor toilet; 3 sleeping platforms; 6 blankets; basic utensils and cooking pots. There is no water or electricity available, and the nearest telephone is 13 miles away. Maximum of 6 people, family camping only. This is not for group camping. No garbage service. Alerts and Important Information*Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. * For advance reservation: maximum 180 days. From November 1 through June 15, be prepared to ski or hike in 3 miles along the Robbs Road from Ice House Road. Call for current conditions. Bring water.Pets/Dogs are NOT allowed. The rental is for the Hut, not the Lookout. No refunds for bad weather unless Ice House Road is not passable. (Latitude, Longitude): 38.92361, -120.40417 Highway 50, 21 miles east of Placerville, turn left on Ice House Road and go 23 miles north to the Robbs Hut Road turnoff. Look for small sign and turn left on dirt road. In winter, park here and ski/hike 3 miles along road to hut. In summer, use combination to access both gates and drive up.
