Winter Camping Information: A (equestrian) area and portions of B area will be open for winter camping from October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Fees in the month of October range from $12.00 to $16.00/night with some sites having individual water and electrical hookups. Fees November through March 2010 will be $12.00/night with some sites having individual electric. Park has one frost free hydrant to fill fresh water tanks during the months of November - March. Please use honor vault, located near entrance of park, for all camping payments. Senior and Access Pass holders will receive a 50% discount on nightly rates. CAMPGROUND AND BOAT RAMP CLOSURE: Both A and B areas of Platter will be closed for a construction project that includes site renovation and installation of 50 amp electrical service on several campsites. PLATTER FLATS (OK), OKDescriptionIn Oklahoma's crosstimbers region, the Platter Flats Campground on Lake Texoma provides a desirable atmosphere for those seeking fun and fellowship with good neighbors from far and near. Boating, swimming, skiing, hunting, bird watching, and lounging on the sandy beaches are the typical pursuits of most visitors. The lake features 2 wildlife refuges, 2 State Parks, and 23 commercial concession areas dedicated to the enjoyment of over 8 million visitors annually. The Platter Flats Campground is a more out-of-the-way area for Lake Texoma. Sites are normally available for drive-up campers. The area features 83 sites ranging from basic, to sites with water only, with electricity only , and sites with water and electricity. Other amenities include 2 shower/toilet facilities, a boat ramp, and a shelter.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationThe only day use allowed in the park is at the day use shelter Site # (S1) which must be reserved, and overnight camping is not allowed in the shelter. If you would like to camp overnight you must reserve an overnight camp site. the shelter may be reserved for $50/day.The entrance gate is open 6am-10pm. Campers may exit at any time. Sites A1-A57 are available for Equestrian camping, but you do not need to have a horse to camp on these sites There are no convenience stores or marinas nearby.
