Description

The clear water of Pomme de Terre Lake and the rolling Ozark hills provide an excellent setting for camping, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hunting or almost any outdoor recreational activity. Pomme de Terre Lake, with 7,790 surface acres & 113 miles of shoreline, is well known for its excellent fishing combined with the panoramic scenery.

The Outlet Park is located below the Pomme de Terre Dam on the Pomme de Terre River. The Park has 28 campsites; 14 electric/water and 14 non-electric. Additional amenities include showers, a boat ramp, group camp, picnic shelter, multipurpose court, playground, and flush toilet.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays.

Outlet Park is open year round, however, amenities are only available April 16-Oct. 15. Campsite fees are; $10-$14/night and $30/night for the group camp. The picnic shelter is available for $20/day.

The Harbor Marina is located across the road and on the lake. It has bait, fuel, boating supplies, a restaurant, and boat launch ramp available.

Canoeing on the river below Pomme de Terre Dam is available year round. However river conditions vary dramatically depending upon the outflow from the dam. Water levels can rise or fall quickly with changes in releases or weather conditions. It is incumbent upon individuals to know the conditions and their own capabilities and take appropriate cautions. River outflow information can be obtained by contacting the Pomme de Terre Project Office at 417-745-6411 or at http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/pt/daily.cfm.

From Springfield, MO, take US 65 Highway North to Preston MD. Take 54 Highway west to Hermitage. Go south from Hermitage on 254/64 Highway about 4 miles to Carson Corner. Turn west on 254 toward Pomme de Terre Dam. Cross the dam and turn north on the paved road at far end of the dam. Follow road to park below dam.
