OLD HICKORY BEACH (TN), TN

Description

Located along the shoreline of the nearly 22,500 acre Old Hickory Lake just outside of metropolitan Nashville, TN, and near The Hermitage, which is the historical home of President Andrew Jackson. Old Hickory Beach Recreation Area offers visitors a variety facilities and outdoor recreation opportunities, including: exceptional bank and boat fishing, recreational boating, reservable group picnic shelter, playground, swimming beach, nature trail, and boat launch. With numerous species of wildlife residing in and around Old Hickory Lake, visitors can view abundant populations of migratory songbirds, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, squirrels, rabbits, snakes, waterfowl and wading birds, making nature study and photography additional exciting pastimes.

Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
  • The day use shelter is available from May 7- September 1, 2010 and can be reserved for $50/day.
  • The shelter will accommodate 100 people and 100 vehicles.
  • 20 amp service is available .
  • Check in time is 6am and check out time is 10pm.
  • More information about this area may be obtained by calling (615)822- 4846.
  • There will be a fee of $4 per vehicle charged at the recreation area in addition to the shelter reservation fee.
