As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. OLD HICKORY BEACH (TN), TNDescriptionOld Hickory Beach Recreation Area is located on beautiful Old Hickory Lake in Nashville, TN, near Opryland and the Hermitage, which is the historic home of President Andrew Jackson. This area was formerly known as Metro Beach in the late 1980's and early 1990's. Visitors here enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming as well as other outdoor activities. An abundance of wildlife can be seen including migratory songbirds, white-tailed deer, wild turkey, squirrels, rabbits, and snakes. A group picnic shelter provides an excellent setting for a large group to enjoy all nature has to offer.Services & Amenities:
