NAMEKAGON (WI), WI

Description

Namekagon campground is open on a first come, first serve basis from May 1st thru Oct 27th. Reservations are accepted from May 15th thru Sept 15th. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. The campground is located in an old growth hardwood and hemlock forest. Large campsites. The campground has a large day use area with covered picnic shelter, beach, and basketball hoop. The boat landing is located within the campground. The campground is located near the CAMBA mountain bike trails and the Namekagon interpretive hiking trail for the entire family. Many area lakes and streams nearby. Pets must be leashed at all times. Namekagon Lake is 3,227 acres and has good fishing for muskie, walleye, northern, bass, and panfish.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. Your reservation confirmation notice will also serve as a parking pass at day-use parking areas in your campground. The campground has a large day-use/picnic site with a picnic shelter and beach. Great for large gatherings. The boat landing is located within the campground. The campground is located near the CAMBA mountain bike trails and Namekagon interpretive hiking trail, nice trail for the entire family. The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) has prohibited the possession, storage or transportation of any firewood that originates from outside the state of Wisconsin or that originates from more than 25 miles from the destination point. The exception is firewood gathered on the CNNF. This is to prevent the spread the Emerald Ash Borer and other exotic insect pests. Firewood is available at or near camping facilities.
Pets are allowed but must be leashed and not left unattended.
No firearms or fireworks allowed in campground. No electric, water or sewer hookups available at this campground. All vehicles must fit on the parking pad. No ATV's allowed in campground.

Drive east form Cable Wisconsin on Hwy M for 10.9 miles to Hwy D. Turn left (north) on D and proceed 5.5 miles to Forest Road 209. Turn left (west) and proceed .3 miles to campground.

From Glidden drive north on highway 13 three miles to highway 77. Go left (west) on Hwy 77 13.5 miles to Clam Lake. Take county road M out of Clam Lake (northwest. Follow county M 8.8 miles to county road D, go right. Follow county D 5.5 miles to forest road 209 (campground sign here)turn left 0.3 miles to campground.
