FIREWOOD ALERT!: Leave Your Firewood At Home! We need your help to protect our forests! A firewood quarantine has been established for much of the state of Virginia. In general, firewood can harbor insect pests under the bark and in the wood. The transport of infested firewood has been identified as a leading cause in the introduction of harmful forest insects into un-infested forest areas. The best way to prevent a new infestation of these invasive pests is to get your firewood AFTER arrival. Help us keep our parks pest free by leaving your firewood at home!

McKinney is open year round. Seasonal campsites 1 to 77 are closed from December 1 until March 1.

During the period, April 1 thru September 30, gate locked from 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
During the period October 1 thru March 31, gate locked from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Maximum two (2) pet limit per campsite.

ATV's and ORV's are prohibited.

This campground has first come, first serve sites. Reservations are NOT made at the campground. You may go to the campground or contact the Allatoona Lake Project Management Office at 678-721-6700 to check availabiltiy of first-come, first-serve sites.
