LITTLE CRATER LAKE (OR), OR

Description

MT. HOOD, GOVERNMENT CAMP, LITTLE CRATER. MOUNTAINS, WILDERNESS, OPEN SPACE, GEOLOGICAL CRATER FIREWOOD SOLD ON SITE, STAFF ON SITE FISHING, HIKING, BICYCLING PETS MUST BE LEASHED, NO FISHING IN LITTLE CRATER, 10 MPH IN CG, QUIET HOURS 10PM-6AM This quiet campground is located in the Mt Hood National Forest at 3300 feet of elevation. Little Crater Lake is a cold, crystal clear, blue lake located 300 feet down an accessible trail from this 15-site campground. The spring-fed lake is 45 deep and less than 100 feet in diameter. It is not suitable for fishing, swimming or boating, but is very scenic. The surrounding meadow is a great place for observing birds and other wildlife. Larger Timothy Lake is located about 10 miles away, and is suitable for boating, fishing and swimming.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground has FIRES IN FIRE CIRCLES ONLY first-come, first-serve sites. To reserve a site over the phone, call NO DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS OR FIREWORKS Reserve America at 1-877-444-6777. To reserve a site via the web: www.reserveusa.com

    MAXIMUM 2 VEHICLES PER SITE
  • No all-terrain or off-highway vehicles allowed in campground.
  • Pets must be leashed.
  • No discharge of firearms or fireworks.
  • Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Maximum 6 people per single site.
  • Vehicles must be parked on the spur.
  • Campground must be occupied the first night.

Camping fee pays for one vehicle per site. There is an extra vehicle fee of 50% of the site fee for additional vehicles. The extra vehicle fee will be collected at the campground. An extra vehicle is any vehicle (motorhome, trailer or passenger vehicle) that is not towed in with the first vehicle.

From Sandy, Oregon, travel East on Highway 26 for approximately 40 miles to Skyline Road (Road 42). Turn right and travel South 4 miles. Turn right on FS Road 58, travel 2 miles to Little Crater Lake Campground entrance sign. Not on Timothy Lake.
