LITTLE BROOKLYN LAKE GUARD (WY), WYDescriptionThe Little Brooklyn Guard Station is located nine miles west of Centennial, W.Y. Built in 1931 to house Forest Service employees, the cabin is now available to rent to the general public on a year-round basis through the USDA Forest Service Recreation Fee Demonstration Program. Information about the quarters may be obtained at the Laramie Ranger District office in Laramie, W.Y. or by calling (307)745-2300.This beautiful facility, located deep within the Medicine Bow National Forest, has propane and solar lights, propane cook stove, oven, and refrigerator, wood-burning heat, outdoor pump for drinking water, and an outbuilding vault toilet. There is a kitchen sink that drains into a septic tank, but no indoor running water. There are two sets of bunk beds, a single bed, and a sofa bed in the cabin. Cooking and eating utensils are provided. The cabin will accomodate 7 visitors. Services & Amenities:

Winter access is by snowmobile, snowshoe, or cross-country ski ONLY,
at a distance of approximately 3 miles from nearest parking area, located
at the Green Rock Recreation Area, Hwy 130.
Hay brought must be certified weed free.
Hunting season runs from September 1, 2007 to November 30, 2007.

Brooklyn Lake Rd (FDR 317) is approximately nine miles west of Centennial on Hwy 130 on the north (right) side of the highway.
