LAKE FORK(RIO GRANDE NATL FORE (CO), CO

Description

Located in south central Colorado, along the Conejos River. Elevation is 9,000 feet. Trees in the campground are predominantly spruce and aspen with some cottonwood and willows. There are excellent opportunities for the angler. Nearby trails include Big Lake Trail and Rock Lake Trail. Firewood is available for sale at the campground.

Alerts and Important Information

This campground has first-come, first-served sites.

This is Lake Fork in the Rio Grande Forest near Alamosa and Antonito.
It is not in the Curecanti Recreational Area of Gunnison National Forest near Carbondale.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.

  • 2 night minimum on weekends.
  • 3 night minimum on holidays.

Beginning with the second vehicle, an additional fee will be charged per vehicle per day and will be collected on site.
No refunds for bad weather.

From Antonito, travel west on Highway 17 approximately 24 miles to junction of Highway 17 and 250. Turn on Highway 250 and travel 18 miles on gravel road to Lake Fork Campground.
