As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. LAUREL BRANCH (KY), KYDescriptionRough River Lake lies within the "Clifty" area of the Pennyroyal Region of Kentucky. A wide variety of recreational opportunities and facilities has been provided for visitor enjoyment by the Corps and the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Visitation at the lake now exceeds two million visitor days annually.This campground has 77 sites, boat launching ramp, dump station, pit restrooms, playground, potable water, and swimming. Alerts and Important InformationThe campground is open from the first of May to first of November with Park Attendants on duty, at which time sites range from $14-$19/night. This campground continues to remain open until November 23rd using an honor vault system (from November 2 thru November 23), at which time the sites range from $10-$13/night. The park then closes for the balance of 2009 and will reopen March 26, 2010. Attendants are on duty and the telephone number is (270) 257-8839. Local option prohibits the use of alcohol.
