Description

Located in a generally flat area, at an elevation of 8,600 feet. Campground is situated in a ponderosa pine forest, providing mixed sun and shade. Gambling is available in the historical gold mining towns of Blackhawk and Central City located 12 miles south. Equestrian stables are available 3 miles north. Restroom facilities are provided. Nearest showers are in Nederland. Excellent hiking trails are nearby. Not all sites have developed tent pads.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night min. stay on weekends, 3 night on holidays. Sites may be available on a first come - first served basis outside the reservation season. 14 day stay limit within 60 day period. There is no electricity/water/sewer site hook-ups at this campground. This facility has not yet been retrofitted for individuals with disabilities. All equipment must fit on the site pad. Vehicles park in the developed areas only. Water spigots are in central locations throughout campground. This campground has First-come, First-served sites.
Due to the pine beetle infestation and removal of hazard trees, there is little or no shade in the campground.

From Denver, north on I-25 to US 36 west (Boulder Turnpike) to Boulder. Take Colorado Highway 119 (Canyon Blvd.) west for 22 miles to Nederland. Continue on south for 4 miles to the campground.
