JUNIPER SPRINGS GROUP CAMP (CA), CA

Description

Located in the San Bernardino Mountains forty-five miles from San Bernardino, California. Elevation 7,739 feet. Campground is situated in a pinyon-juniper woodland and meadow.
Toilet and non-potable water are provided. There is no trash collection provided. The nearest showers are at Serrano Campground, fifteen miles away.
Markets and restaurants can be found in Big Bear (eleven miles). Popular activities include boating, fishing and swimming at Big Bear Lake. Hiking, biking and OHV opportunities are nearby.
Access is via a graded dirt road - Low clearance vehicles are not recommended.
Adventure Pass required for parking anywhere outside of campground within National Forest.
Campground capacity 40 persons, 8 vehicles.
Reservation Dates: May 1st - Nov. 30th. Walk-in available during rest of year. Please call the Big Bear Discovery Center (909) 382-2790 for more information.
Fire restrictions vary throughout the year. Campers MUST call the Big Bear Discovery Center at 909-866-3437 for the latest fire-related information.

Alerts and Important Information

Effective September 1, 2009, through the end of the official 2009 fire season. All wood and charcoal fires are prohibited in all developed campgrounds , day use areas , and all other developed areas
Stoves using gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid fuel are still allowed. Check with the local Ranger Station for current fire restrictions
Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
There is no drinking water at this campground.

In Southern Ca 45 miles from San Bernardino. Take I-10 east, (State Highway 330) to Running Springs. State Highway 18 to Big Bear Lake Dam. State Highway 38 17.9 miles, 2N01 (Obscure dirt road). First 100 yards rough, left 2.5 miles, 2N64Y right .6 miles to campground.
