As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. Winter Camping Information: Park will be open for winter camping from October 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. Fees in the month of October will be $20.00/night with water and electric hookups available. Fees November through March 2010 will be $12.00/night with individual electric and one frost free hydrant to fill fresh water tanks. Please use honor vault, located near entrance of park, for all camping payments. Senior and Access Pass holders will receive a 50% discount on nightly rates. JOHNSON CREEK (OK), OK

Description

In Oklahoma's crosstimbers region, the Johnson Creek Campground on Lake Texoma provides a desirable atmosphere for those seeking fun and fellowship with good neighbors from far and near. Boating, swimming, skiing, hunting, bird watching are the typical pursuits of most visitors. The lake features 2 wildlife refuges, 2 State Parks, and 23 commercial concession areas dedicated to enjoyment. The Johnson Creek Campground is easily accessed and a very popular small area. The campground features 55 sites with water and electricity, a shower/toilet facility, trailer dump station, boat ramp with courtesy dock, and a pretty good opportunity for successful fishing from the shoreline. There is a marina and convenience stores within 1 mile of the campground.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
No day use allowed in camping area.
The group shelter is available for $50/day.
Entrance gates are open 6am-10pm. Campers may exit at any time.

All campsites are paved. Sites 15, 16, 17, 44, 49, 50, 52, 53, 54 have covered picnic tables.
