Description

Sites 59 to 63 have screened shelters. Holiday Park Campground is located on Benbrook Lake, in the Grand Prairie region of north central Texas. Benbrook Lake is a flood control lake operated by the Fort Worth District of the US Army Corps of Engineers. The lake is situated partially within the city limits of Fort Worth, and offers all the amenities of a large metropolitan area. Visitors may enjoy camping, boating, picnicking, and fishing. The campground provides 105 sites, 79 sites having both electric and water hook-ups. Additional amenities include hot showers, a sewer dump station, boat launch, accessible fishing pier, horse trail access, and public telephones.

Accessibility: There are no campsites in this park that are specifically designated as universally accessible, however the park is an urban/rural setting, and all campsites are generally open and level without barriers, significant grade changes, or slopes. The sites most accessible are so noted under the heading "Access for the Disabled" in the individual sites and overnight facilities listings.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 night minimum stay on holidays. The campground is open year round. Sites are $20/night for water and electric hook-ups, $10/night for non-electric sites, and $30/night for screen shelters

No fires except in fire rings, grills, or covered cookers. All equipment must fit on the site pad. Vehicles park in developed areas only.

Gate attendants are on duty and entrance hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A night exit is provided for after hours.

One site is designated for visitors camping with horses. A national horse trail is accessible from the campground.

Security for this park consists of a gated entrance manned by contract gate attendants from 6 am - 10 pm daily, along with irregular patrols of the park by the gate attendants and uniformed park rangers. Park rangers have no arrest authority; all law enforcement is provided by the Tarrant County Sheriff who may make occasional patrols of the park.

From Interstate Hwy 20 in SW Fort Worth, take exit #429A for US Hwy 377 to Granbury. Go SW 5.7 miles (9.2km) and turn left/east on Pearl Ranch Dr. Go 2 miles (3.2 km) east to the park.

From US Highway 377 and FM 1187, go 1/4 mile northeast and cross the bridge over the Clear Fork of Trinity River, turn east on Pearl Ranch Drive and go 2 miles to the park entrance.

From Interstate Hwy 35W south of Fort Worth, take FM Road 1187 west through Crowley. Go 15 miles (24km) to US Hwy 377. Turn right/NE, proceed 1/4 mile (0.4km) NE of the bridge over the Clear Fork of Trinity River, turn right/east on Pearl Ranch Dr (may be signed S. Lakeview Dr). Proceed 2 miles (3.4km) east to the park entrance.
