As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. HERNANDO POINT (MS), MSDescriptionThe Hernando Point Recreation Area is located on the east side of Arkabutla Lake, five miles south of Hernando, MS or three miles north of Coldwater, MS. This campground offers 83 campsites and a trailer dump station. The nearby day use area includes one picnic shelter, playground, boat ramp, and numerous picnic tables. Visitors enjoy outdoor recreational activities such as camping, fishing, boating, swimming, biking and spending a relaxing day taking in all that nature has to offer. Bring your family to Arkabutla Lake to enjoy the great outdoors.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationThe campground is open year round. Sites are $18-20 per night March 1 - Oct 31 and $16-18 per night Nov 1- Feb 28. Check-in time is 6pm check-out time is 4pm. (Latitude, Longitude): 34.73361, -90.06889 From I-55, Hernando, MS exit; proceed west to US Hwy 51, south on US Hwy 51 to area sign then west on Wheeler Road and follow signs into campground. From I-55, take the Coldwater, MS exit; proceed west to US Hwy 51, north on US Hwy 51 to area sign then west on Wheeler Road and follow signs to the campground.
