Services & Amenities:

Alerts and Important Information

Same day reservations allowed for this cabin. Please remember that it is illegal and unwise to feed wildlife. Bears can quickly learn to associate people with food and may become a threat to cabin visitors. Habituated bears may ultimately be killed to prevent potentially dangerous conflicts with humans. Please don't feed the bears. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is not allowed. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. In fall, winter and early spring, the cabin may be inaccessible due to frozen lake surface (floatplanes cannot land). Please contact the local Forest Service Ranger District office for information prior to making reservations during these periods. Water should be treated or boiled before drinking. All garbage and food must be packed out. Please do not confuse this cabin with the Southeast Heckman Lake Cabin, which is located on the other end of the lake, is larger, and is wheelchair accessible.
