FLAT ROCK CREEK (OK), OK

Description

Fort Gibson Lake is located along the Grand (Neosho) River and is nestled in the hills of eastern Oklahoma. The lake draws its name from historic Fort Gibson, which played a prominent part in the military history of early day Oklahoma. A reconstructed log stockade stands on the site of the first log fort, and volunteers reenact the lifestyle of the late 1800s for various events throughout the year. Now a National Historical Landmark, the stockade is owned by the state of Oklahoma and is open to the public year round. Flat Rock Creek is one of six campgrounds on Fort Gibson Lake that is available for reservations through ReserveAmerica. Reservations are available April 1 through September 30. The campground sits along the banks of Flat Rock Bay, and provides excellent lake access. Whether camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming or just sightseeing, we invite you to come and enjoy the scenic beauty of Fort Gibson Lake.
